As some of you may know, going to certain places will require a long flight. I myself hate long flights and wanted to share some tips I’ve learned along my journey that will help you through your trip.
During long flights, you might not like the sound of the air host, crying baby beside you, or anything else. People also find sleeping hard during long flights.
But, it is not necessary that you have to suffer during all long flights. You can enjoy long flights as well and make the maximum out of it.
Here, I’ll share a few tips that you can use to be comfortable on a long flight and enjoy your trip.
Wear Comfortable Clothes:
If you want to sleep comfortably on your flight, wear loose clothes – as close to pajamas as possible. Usually, people feel comfortable in loose-fitting shirts, comfortable pants, and tennis shoes or a flat.
Anything that presses your skin will not let you sit comfortably during the flight.
Avoiding noise is an important tip to be comfortable on a long flight. However, in a plane, it is not possible to make everyone silent.
What is the solution?
Well, you can use noise-canceling headphones which are the best while on a long flight.
Once, the crew of the plane allows you to use the electronic devices, turn on the headset and enjoy your ride without any noise interfering in your comfort.
If you haven’t got any noise-canceling earphones and you don’t want to invest in them as well, use your earplugs for this purpose.
Drink Enough Water:
While on a flight, especially, on a long flight, you need to remain hydrated.
Try to avoid alcohol, coffee, or tea. As with any other caffeinated drink, alcohol impairs your ability to sleep.
Moreover, all three of these beverages dehydrate you, however, your body needs hydration.
Therefore, it is better to drink only water during your flight.
Hydrate your Skin:
The air quality of the cabin may affect your skin adversely. Therefore, it is better to take care of it and apply a good cream or lotion to your lips, face, and hands.
Fuel up Drinking Green Juice:
Nothing can fuel you up like a cup of fresh green juice.
It is better to start your journey with a refreshing juice that is delicious and healthy too. Many airports, these days, have juice bars. You can buy a fresh green juice to refill your energy.
If there is no juice bar, you can take bottled green juice as well.
Use your Time Wisely:
If you have to go on a long flight, plan before boarding what you are going to do.
For instance, if you love to watch movies, you can plan to watch a couple – you like the most – of movies during the flight.
If you don’t like to watch movies, just because you don’t know what to do, then better find some other activity, or you will feel more uncomfortable and tiring.
Get an Upgrade:
If you are a regular traveler, try to use one airline and save its miles. You can use these saved miles later to get an upgrade, especially, when you need to take a long flight.
It will not make your longer flights more comfortable but more enjoyable as well.
Don’t Carry Too Much:
While leaving for a long journey, and due to the checked baggage fee, many people carry on stuff.
Don’t do this mistake. Lots of stuff under the seat only limits your leg space, and obviously, you don’t want to get confined in a limited space while on a 15-16 hours flight.
These simple tips would help you in completing your long journeys. You will find them more helpful if you are traveling alone.
